Spec home needed very nice kitchen to attract the right buyers.
Original plans showed partial wall partially blocking kitchen from the great room. Customer agreed to delete this wall in the actual construction, to allow the kitchen to be the centerpiece of the space.
Cabinets are stacked at 108″. Crown is also stacked, and is comprised of the baseboard molding – inverted for the crown and creating symmetry up and down – onto which another layer of crown is attached.
To make the whole thing come together, customer chose very nice 3cm quartzite with a milky white background and grey veining. Really beautiful. And it was pretty costly; about $25k just for the slabs.
